Gary S. Straus Memorial ScholarshipGary S. Straus worked as a Sanitarian for the Wayne Health Department, and in 1972, passed away suddenly while at work at the young age of 23. In his honor, his family founded the Gary S. Straus Memorial Scholarship with the New Jersey Environmental Health Association. This scholarship supports members of the Association who are pursuing a degree in environmental or public health at an accredited college, university, or institution of higher learning located in New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania. The scholarship is intended for degree-seeking students only; other educational pursuits, including continuing education credits, are not eligible for this scholarship. Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible. The maximum individual scholarship award shall not exceed $1000.00, and a maximum of two scholarships are awarded each year. Paschal Nwako ScholarshipThe Paschal Nwako Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to students currently enrolled in the Environment and Public Health (EPH) Program who are pursuing professional development in environmental and public health. Applicants must be self-funded, complete and submit the official scholarship application by July 31, and provide a statement of need for consideration. |
NJEHA Conference and Meeting HonorariumHonorariums are issued annually according to funds available in scholarship fund. Each Honorarium is not to exceed $395 each. Honorariums are meant to help offset costs of CEU training. Applicants must be members in good standing.The Annual Conference Honorarium provides financial assistance to NJEHA members attending the Association’s annual conference. Recipients will be reimbursed after attending the conference and submitting a conference-related article for publication in the NJEHA newsletter. Articles must be a minimum of 150 words, summarize or reflect on the conference experience, and be submitted by May 1 for consideration.Application |
