The new food code in New Jersey will now be referred to as: CHAPTER 24. No longer will the food code be spoken of as Chapter 12, since the new codification falls under the designation of N.J.A.C. 8:24, which corresponds to Chapter 24 or Title 8 of the NJ Administrative Code. Information about the new code and an online copy of the new code is available on the NJDHSS website
Various training sessions are being held to update inspectors on the changes to the food code. See the NJLMN website for a listing of training sessions.
A special "unofficial" reproduction of the copy published in the NJ Register has also been provided in a convenient Word document format from NJEHA member Kathy Antonitis of Middlesex County HD. Kathy, along with NJEHA Executive Council member Doug Sheehan have also provided us with a summary of major changes and a valuable index. Thanks to both Kathy and Doug!
