Essex Regional Health Commission - Full Time Licensed NJ Health Officer/Director

The Essex Regional Health Commission based in Livingston NJ is seeking a F/T Licensed NJ Health Officer/Director to assume responsibility for a small staff of eight and the provision of CEHA and LINCS related services to the twenty two municipalities of Essex County. We are seeking a candidate with substantial administrative experience in these areas as well as in fiscal management.

Salary range: 90-110K, plus a generous benefit package

Registered Environmental Health Specialist (Per Diem)- Cranford Township

The Cranford Health Department is looking for a motivated individual who, under direction of Health Officer, participates in the environmental health program of the department.  Completes Chapter XXIV (24) Retail Food Inspections and responds to environmental complaints as needed. 

 

Education:

 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree which must include a minimum of thirty-two (32) credit hours in any combination of biology, chemistry, physics, public health with a concentration in environmental health, mathematics and/or environmental science courses.  Only up to six (6) of the 32 credits may be in college-level mathematics.  At least one of the courses must be a laboratory course in biology, chemistry, physics or the environmental services.

 

Experience:

 

Applicant must have experience conducting retail food inspections, in compliance with Chapter XXIV (24) of the New Jersey State Sanitary Code.  Two (2) years of experience in environmental health is preferred.

 

License:

 

Applicants must possess a current, valid license as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.  Applicants must also possess a current driver’s license valid in New Jersey.

 

Hourly rate between $25-$30/hour, about 50 hours per month.
